EIGHTEYE INTERVIEW SWICK

We caught up with our bro Swick, the 18 year old DJ/producer from Melbourne Australia and spoke to him about what sounds we will be hearing from him and what he has planned for the remainder of this year.

E.E. Whatup Swick, how you doing man?

S. Im goooood! how are you? ps. love your blog

E.E. Who are some of the artists inspiring your music at the moment?

S. Guys like douster & canblaster have been inspiring me lately. i've been playing heaps of their stuff in my sets recently!

E.E. What’s been happening in Swick’s garage over the past few weeks, you been working on anything new at the moment?

S. I have been pretty lonely and cold in the garage lately cos tranter abandoned me but i have just been trying to finish my EP & work on some remixes.

E.E. We know your E.P is almost finished, what should we expect to hear from it?

S. Yeah its finished now just putting the final touches on it. i guess it sounds pretty tropical. you can hear some of it in my new mix!

E.E. You recently tweeted about some cute girls asking you to play dubstep at one of your gigs, what was the response you gave them?

S. Haha yeah i just explained to them i didn't have any and they wouldn't believe me then they asked me if they could dj. it was really anooying but they were cute so i didn't mind!

E.E. So what should people expect to hear from 12.45 till 2.00pm on the Kakadu stage at Parklife in Melbourne on Saturday?

S. Everything! i am hoping to play some of the stuff i am really into at the moment & some stuff i have been working on at home but i'll probs end up playing cheesy haha!

E.E. What are your plans for the remainder of the year?

S. Nothing really i'm just hoping to get my EP out, play as much as i can & just take it as it comes!

You can catch Swick play at Parklife Melbourne on Saturday from 12.45 – 2.00pm on the Kakadu stage and on January 1st at the Falls Festival in Lorne from 2.00am.
